
Bucknell Women's Golf Finishes 14th at William & Mary

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. - Celine Herbin carded a final-round 78 and finished in fifth place in the individual standings, leading the Bison women's golf squad to a 14th-place team finish at the William & Mary Invitational at Ford's Colony Marsh Hawk Course.
Herbin, who shot a three-over 75 in Saturday's first round, finished eight shots behind medallist January Romero of Yale, who fired a tournament-low 69 on Sunday. Tiffany Woodyer of Longwood (151), Melissa Aylor of Penn (152) and Cindy Shin of Yale (152) were the only other players in a field of 124 golfers to finish ahead of Herbin.
Bucknell shot 337 as a team on Sunday, 14 strokes higher than its first-round tally. Jaime Hays carded her second straight 84 to finish in a tie for 76th place at 168. Teammate Teri Schlang joined her at 168 after shooting 83-85.
After shooting a solid 81 in the first round, Meredith Kalman slipped to 90 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 86th. Also competing for Bucknell, Stephanie Calhoun shot 92-90.
James Madison (618) came from three strokes down at the start of the day to claim the team title by three shots over first-round leader Yale. Also finishing ahead of Bucknell were Princeton (622), Ohio (627), Elon (631), Longwood (632), Toledo (635), William & Mary (637), Western Michigan (639), Ball State (641), Marshall (650), Methodist (650) and Saint Francis (656). Fellow Big South member High Point placed just behind Bucknell at 666.
The Bison return to action next Saturday and Sunday, hosting the Bucknell Bison Classic at the Bucknell University Golf Club.
