The starting center on the 1935 Orange Bowl football team, George McGaughey received All-America honorable mention in 1934 and later coached for many years at Lafayette College, where he is also a member of the Hall of Fame. When his Bucknell coach, Edward "Hook" Mylin, moved to Lafayette in 1937, McGaughey was hired as an assistant coach. Today the Bucknell football team presents an award in his honor to the most outstanding player in the Lafayette game.
