ANNAPOLIS, Md.- Bucknell (5-8, 1-3 Patriot League) fell in four sets (25-18, 21-25, 22-25, 15-25) to Navy (6-6, 4-0 PL) in Saturday afternoon action. The Bison led early before dropping its third straight match.

Bucknell produced more kills (55-52) than Navy, but the Midshipmen outhit the Bison .339 to .215. Navy proved taller at the net, collecting ten blocks, and committed fewer service errors.

Cameron Lloyd led Bucknell in kills with 14, one of four Bison with double-digit kills. Marion Haskell and Sidney Shaffer each notched 12. Kaitlyn Taylor added ten.

Peyton McGee supplied 44 assists.

Bucknell rolled to an 8-2 start in the first set and never looked back. Navy tied the affair at 1-1 but never led. The Mids cut the deficit to 13-9 before Bucknell unleashed a 6-1 run to solidify its lead. Two straight Navy errors handed the 25-18 set win to Bucknell.

The Bison took a 12-11 lead in the second set. Navy responded with a 3-0 run. Bucknell replied by tying the set at 15-15. The Midshipmen, once again, unlocked another stretch to pull away and tie the match.

The Orange & Blue started strong in the third set and led 12-8. Navy erased the deficit with a 9-3 run. Bucknell tied the set twice but Navy was unfazed. A 4-0 run provided the cushion for a 25-22 set victory.

Navy smelled blood in the water and salted away the match. The Mids sailed to an 8-1 lead in the fourth set and cruised to the 25-15 set win. Bucknell did inch within 17-12 but a pair of 4-0 Navy runs sealed the match victory.

Bucknell starts home play next weekend against Army (Oct. 2) and Colgate (Oct. 3).
