Kuehn’s Ace Highlights Bucknell’s Final Round at The Goat

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Senior Taylor Kuehn made a hole-in-one at the par-3 17th hole, highlighting Bucknell's final round at The Goat, hosted by Navy. Kuehn, who also eagled the par-4 12th hole earlier in his round, closed with a 2-over-par 73. Freshman Charlie Barrickman made an eagle of his own and shot 72, but the Bison had to count two scores in the 80s and finished in 14th place after a final-round 309.

Bucknell totaled 921 over 54 holes. George Washington captured the team title at 856, three better than Georgetown. William & Mary and Saint Joseph's tied for third at 863.

Kuehn shot 76-73-73 and was the low Bison for the week in a tie for 35th place. The Bison started the day on the 10th hole, and Kuehn erased an early bogey with the eagle on the 300-yard, par-4 12th hole, and later he got to 3-under after going birdie-ace at 16 and 17. He gave a few shots back on his second nine but still managed a second straight 73.

Barrickman, coming off a win at Colgate in his debut two weeks ago, improved each day at Navy with rounds of 77-74-72. He made two birdies in addition to the eagle at the par-5 third hole.

Also for the Bison on Sunday, freshman Brad McDermott and sophomore Henry Bolster carded 82s, and junior Jack Hartman carded an 83. Freshman Conner Freedman closed out his first career tournament with an 80.

There was a three-way tie for first atop the individual leaderboard, with UConn's Kai Jun Huang outlasting Georgetown's Carson Erick and William & Mary's Preston Burton on the third playoff hole. That trio all finished at 2-under over 54 holes. The George Washington duo of Patricio Gonzalez and Evan Eichenlaub finished one shot back.

Bucknell will look to bounce back on Oct. 4-5 at the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, hosted by Binghamton at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.
