About Bucknell

Bucknell Volleyball heads to Massachusetts this weekend for the Boston College Invitational. The Bison face off against New Hampshire, ACC foe and tournament host Boston College, and Stonehill. The Boston College clash will be streamed on ACCNX. Live Stats links for all three contests can be found on the Bucknell Volleyball schedule page.
The Bison began the John Post era at last weekend's Marshall Invitational. Ohio and Marshall dealt defeats to the Orange & Blue before Bucknell bounced back to defeat Niagara for Post's first win as Bison head coach.
The Bison were selected to finish with the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament in the preseason poll. Defending champions American was picked to retain its crown. Bucknell lost 3-2 in the Patriot League First Round last year to Navy.
Graduation thinned the Bison ranks. 2024 Patriot League Setter of the Year Caleigh O'Connell headlined the departures. Other notable losses included backup setter Laura Caro, First Team All-Patriot League member Bri Frazilus, Second Team All-Patriot League honoree Tijana Kostic, and prominent middle blocker Riley Tucker, who graduated early and transferred to Tulane.
Plenty of talent remains in Lewisburg with two-time First Team All-Patriot League recipient Sidney Shaffer - the preeminent middle blocker in the conference. Shaffer was Bucknell's sole entry on the 2026 Patriot League Preseason Team. Cameron Lloyd switches back to outside hitter after a magnificent season as a libero, a move that significantly bolsters the position group after Frazilus' and Kostic's departures.
Two transfers, Calli Kenny and Katie O'Sullivan, arrived at Bucknell. Kenny, a setter, previously played at Marquette, while O'Sullivan, a libero, suited up for San Jose State.
Six freshmen joined the Bison, most notably, Isabella Charlton and Marion Haskell. The duo received significant playing time during the opening weekend.
John Post enters his first season for the Bison after a highly successful tenure as an assistant coach at Yale. Post previously helmed the men's and women's programs at Nichols College.

Scouting New Hampshire/Series History

The Wildcats finished 9-14 overall and 3-7 in the America East last year.
The 2026 season saw positive returns in the opening weekend. UNH went 3-0 against a collection of regional foes: New Haven, Providence, and St. Peter's.
New Hampshire was picked to finish fifth in the six-team America East.
Middle blocker Rachel Grier and outside hitter Lucy Chertock were named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team.
The 3-0 weekend landed New Hampshire a pair of weekly awards. Outside hitter Emma Converse earned America East Player of the Week and libero Hady Pickard landed America East Defensive Player of the Week.
Christopher Feliciano enters his eighth season at New Hampshire.
Bucknell and New Hampshire met once in 2006. New Hampshire won in four sets.

Scouting Boston College/Series History

Boston College finished 16-16 overall but went 5-15 in the brutally tough ACC. Their only non-conference loss came in a five-set upset to Bryant.
The Eagles opened 2026 with two sweeps over Air Force and Quinnipiac.
BC was picked to finish 15th in the 18-team ACC. No Eagles were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team.
Audrey Ross collected 39 kills in two matches, averaging an impressive 6.50 kills per set.
Jason Kennedy is in his ninth year as head coach and is the winningest coach in program history.
Bucknell and Boston College have met four times. The Bison won the first match in 1984. The two programs haven't clashed since 1998.

Scouting Stonehill/Series History

Stonehill finished 6-24 overall and 5-11 in NEC play. The Skyhawks are in their fifth year of Division I competition.
The Skyhawks started 2-2 at the UNO/Nicholls State Invitational, defeating Alcorn State and New Orleans but falling to Nicholls and Oral Roberts.
Stonehill was picked to finish fifth in the NEC.
The NEC did not pick a preseason All-League team.
Sam Loyd posted 44 kills to lead the Skyhawk attack.
Craig Martin is in his eighth season as head coach and has deftly handled the program through its Division I transition.
This is the first meeting between Bucknell and Stonehill.
