Men’s Tennis Posts Another Winning Day at Carousel Classic

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Bucknell men's tennis team turned in another winning day at Binghamton's Carousel Classic, going 5-2 in doubles and 4-3 in singles on Saturday at Recreation Park. With five freshmen making their collegiate debuts this weekend, the Bison are now 9-3 in doubles and 8-6 in singles in matches against Binghamton and Buffalo.
Senior Will Robinson and freshmen Jovan Morales, Brady Friesen, and Vlad Dombrovskyi all went 2-0 in doubles, and junior Nelson Alapi and freshman Enoch Lin picked up one win apiece coach Jason Cohen mixed up his doubles pairings.
Lin and Friesen pulled out a tight win in a tiebreaker against Buffalo's Michael Malkin and Connor Doig. Robinson and Dombrovskyi also posted a win (6-2) over the Bulls, who are the reigning Mid-American Conference Champions.
Bucknell's four singles wins all came from freshmen. Justin Yuan came from behind to beat Buffalo's Chase Zhao 3-6, 6-3, 10-5, while Dombrovskyi, Lin, and Morales all downed Binghamton opponents in straight sets. Morales lost a tight 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 decision to Andre Ajed of Binghamton, and Shiv Singh had to retire due to injury at 5-all in the first set against Vonn Dudek of Binghamton.
