About this Weekend
• Bucknell wraps up its fall tournament slate this weekend at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis. Along with the Bison and Midshipmen, the event will feature players from Binghamton, Brown, Georgetown, James Madison, Norfolk State, and Queens.
• This will be a flighted round-robin tournament in both singles and doubles.
• Bucknell is represented by eight players: Nelson Alapi, Tyler Bush, Vlad Dombrovskyi, Liam Kilmer, Enoch Lin, Jovan Morales, Will Robinson, and Justin Yuan.
• The Bison were last in action Oct. 23-25 at the Patriot League qualifier for the ITA Conference Masters Championship. Kilmer won three singles matches to reach the final, but he dropped a three-setter to Lehigh's Alex Van Lumich, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2. Lin also played singles and won his first match against Colgate's Jack Babka, but Lin fell in three sets to Payton Jim On of Boston University in the quarterfinals.
• In doubles, Lin and fellow freshman Brady Friesen pulled out a 9-7 win over Darrin Lerner and John Owen Studdiford in the quarterfinals, but they fell 8-5 to Navy's Lachlan Buckingham and Ethan Garcia in the semifinals.
• Bucknell sent four players to the ITA Northeast Regional at UPenn the previous weekend. Facing tough competition throughout, the Bison got singles wins from Bush against Lehigh's Kosei Ogawa (2-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Lin against Drexel's Anthony Moukarzel (6-4, 1-6, 10-6). Kilmer earned a bye into the main draw but fell in straight sets to Penn State's Eyal Shyovitz.
• With a new-look lineup this year, head coach Jason Cohen has mixed and matched his doubles teams. Bucknell has used 17 different doubles pairings thus far. Nelson Alapi is a perfect 6-0 in doubles with three different partners. Freshman Jovan Morales is 6-1, and Friesen is 7-3.
• Bucknell has a combined 19-12 doubles record and a 35-18 singles mark in four fall tournaments. Lin leads the squad with seven singles wins in 10 matches, while Friesen is 5-1.
• Will Robinson and Kilmer are the team's lone seniors and most experienced players following the graduation of one of the finest senior classes in team history. Amar Tahirovic, Adam Stavrakas, Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega, and Brendan McDonald comprised the winningest class in program annals and led the Bison to the 2025 Patriot League title.
A Look Ahead
• The Bison will be on hiatus until the spring semester, when they open up the dual-match season on the road against Mount St. Mary's on Jan. 23.
