The Bison are coming off of a series loss to Saint Joseph's last weekend. The Bison took game two in a 15-13 thriller but fell to the Hawks 2-0 in game one and 13-3 in game three.

Last Time Out
- Bucknell was stifled at the plate in games one and three of the series against Saint Joseph's. Between the two games, the Bison combined for just six hits.
- In game two, the Bison held off a Hawks' comeback to win 15-13 in a four-hour long game. Bucknell led 13-4 heading to the seventh, but nine runs from the Hawks in the seventh and eighth made it a one-run game. The Bison grabbed an insurance run in the eighth, and Hadley Maxwell closed out the ninth for the win.
- It was a pitcher's duel in game one of the series. Jonathan Adelmann had his longest career outing in his new role as a starter. He tossed 7.0 innings and allowed just one run on four hits. He surrendered just one walk and fanned five batters. Â
- In game two, Everett Garber tossed 5.1 innings to earn his second win of the year. He allowed four runs, three unearned, on eight hits. Garber struck out a career-high eight batters.
- In game three, the Bison were no-hit for 6.2 innings until Ty Lagoni ended it with a ground rule double.
- Bucknell is hitting .213 at the plate and pitchers have posted a 7.49 team ERA. Opponents are hitting .313 against the Bison and pitchers have a 3.98 ERA.
- Outfielder Michael Trommer is hitting .340/.446/.681 for a 1.127 OPS. He has four home runs and seven RBIs along with six multi-hit games. Against Saint Joe's, Trommer notched his 100th career hit with an RBI single in game two. He followed up the hit with a two-run homer in his next at-bat.
- Freshman DH and first baseman Garrett Mathias is hitting .333/.500/.444 to begin his collegiate career. He is 10-for-30 at the plate and is second on the team with six RBIs. Mathias has drawn six walks.
- Outfielder Michael Chiaravallo is hitting .292/.346/.583 in seven starts. The junior has two home runs and six RBIs this season. Â
- Third baseman Zach Selfon is second on the team with nine 11. The Northwestern transfer has four RBIs and five runs scored.
- The Bison have hit 12 home runs this season. Ty Lagoni, Andrew Swenson, Ryan Facinelli, Garrison Bullock, Lleyton Coupe and Mathias have all homered. Trommer, Chiaravallo and Mathias all homered in their first at-bats of the season. Bullock homered in his second at-bat of the year.
- Coupe was 2-for-2 against Saint Joseph's in game two with a pinch-hit home run. The homer was the first of his career. Coupe had two RBIs in that game and then drove in two runs on a single in game three. Â
- Jonathan Adelmann has a 3.15 ERA in four starts for the Bison in his new role for the Bison. The right-hander is coming off of his longest career outing where he went seven innings with one earned run on four hits. Adelmann has allowed 13 runs, only seven of which were earned in 20.0 innings. He's surrendered 13 walks and struck out 16 batters.
- Everett Garber has a 5.09 ERA in 17.2 innings over four starts. Garber is 2-1, getting the win in each of his last two starts. Â
- Freshman Brady Hoar has a 7.02 ERA in four starts. Saint Joseph's tagged him for seven runs on Sunday, but the Freshman posted a 3.95 ERA through the first three games. He earned the Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor after a quality start in Bucknell's lone win over Radford.
- Hadley Maxwell is 3-for-3 in save opportunities this season for the Bison. He's allowed just two hits and struck out five batters over 4.1 innings and four appearances.
- Senior Ryan Facinelli was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team and was a Second Team All-Patriot League selection in 2025.
- Bucknell posted an 18-27 overall record with a 10-15 mark in the Patriot League. The Bison finished fifth in the PL missed the playoffs after making the postseason the previous three seasons.
- Holy Cross won the 2025 Patriot League Championship, ending Army's three-year run as champions.
- Head coach Scott Heather is in his 14th season at the helm, and he is the third-longest tenured coach in program history. Heather's 242 career wins are second-most in team history, trailing only Hall-of-Famer Gene Depew (591).
- Coach Heather is assisted by Jason Neitz (16th season), Brett Smith '17 (6th season) and Josh Kieffer (5th season).
- North Carolina is 13-3-1 to start the 2026 season. The Tar Heels were 46-15 last season and are the reigning ACC Champions. The Tar Heels met up with the Patriot League Champions, Holy Cross, in the NCAA Regional where they defeated the Crusaders 4-0. North Carolina eventually fell to Arizona in the Super Regional. Â
- UNC is batting .288 as a team and pitchers have a 3.50 team ERA. Opponents are hitting .235 and oppsing pitchers have a 9.49 ERA.
- Jake Schaffner leads the team with 22 hits and is hitting .373/.457/.678 for a 1.135 OPS.
- Erik Paulsen is batting .339/.486/.661 for a 1.147 OPS
- Macon Winslow is hitting .327/.480/.473. Colin Hynek is batting .321/.438/.604 for a 1.042 OPS.
- Jason DeCaro, Ryan Lynch and Folger Boaz all have four starts for UNC in weekend starting roles. DeCaro leads the team with a 1.71 ERA in 21.0 innings.
- Caden Glauber has a 2.16 ERA in 16.2 innings. He's made six appearances with one start, striking out 22 batters.
- Jackson Rose has not allowed an earned run yet in 7.1 innings. He's surrendered just four hits and struck out five batters.
- Jake Cackovic and Riley Leatherman have not allowed an earned run, but both pitchers have only pitched an inning.
- This will be the first ever meeting between the Bison and the Tar Heels. Bucknell picked up two ACC wins last season, taking a game from Virginia Tech and defeating Pittsburgh.
- Â The Bison begin Patriot League action as Lafayette comes to town for a three-game series at Depew Field at Marren Park beginning on Friday at 2 p.m.
