LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell baseball team dropped the series finale to Saint Joseph's 13-3 at Smithson Field on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Saint Joseph's got out to a 9-0 lead to piggyback Luke Parise's six no hit innings. Ty Lagoni broke up the no hitter with two outs in the seventh to spark a two-run rally, but the late Bucknell spurt was not enough to overcome the big deficit.

The Hawks opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first, but it was a big five-run third inning that separated them from the Bison early. Saint Joe's extended the lead to 9-0 after a run in the fourth and sixth innings.

Lagoni broke up the no-hitter with a ground rule double in the seventh. Garrett Mathias and Zach Selfon both drew walks to set up two-run single by Lleyton Coupe to get the Bison on the board.

Saint Joe's restored the nine-run lead as Alex Venezia hit a two-run homer in the eighth. The homer was Venezia's second in as many days. The Hawks continued the rally with three more hits and a walk in the inning to extend the lead to 13-2.

Selfon drove in a third run for the Bison in the top of the ninth. He brought home Michael Trommer who walked to lead off the frame.

Lagoni, Coupe and Selfon had the only hits in the ballgame for the Bison. Mathias drew two walks, and Selfon and Trommer both drew a walk. The Hawks had 17 hits in the ballgame, and neither side made an error.

Bucknell is back in on the road on Tuesday to face one of the top-ranked teams in the nation in No. 8 North Carolina at 4 p.m.
