Water Polo Rolls to 14-4 Win Over Salem

LEXINGTON, Va.- Bucknell (3-1) opened the VMI Invite in dominant fashion with a 14-4 dismantling of Salem (0-2) on Friday night. Nine different Bison scored goals as the declawed Tigers were no match for Bucknell's efficient offensive machine.

Ashley Hopper led the troops with a perfect 3-of-3 from the pool. A trio of Bison scored two goals each, Olivia Garcia, Ashley's twin sister Olivia Hopper, and senior Gwen Kallmeyer. Tamara Torkos recorded eight saves.

The Bison jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Salem could score a goal. Five different Bucknell players tallied a cage-finder before Olivia Hopper inked the sixth goal for her second score.

Bucknell led 8-2 at halftime and used a 5-0 run in the second half to put the matter to bed. Kallmeyer scored her two goals in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Salem posted two goals during garbage time.

The Orange & Blue face Route 15 Rival Mount St. Mary's and host VMI tomorrow.
