Water Polo Splits Games at the First Day of the Harvard Invite at Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Bucknell (8-6) split the first day of the Harvard Invite at Brown on Saturday. The Bison dropped a 16-10 contest to No. 21 Wagner (5-6) and rebounded for a 13-11 win over LIU (3-9).

The No. 21 Seahawks pulled away from the Bison to record their second win of 2026 over Bucknell. Three different Orange & Blue players tallied two goals: Ashley Hopper, Olivia Hopper, and Bella Schraa.
The first quarter featured ten goals. Bucknell scored four and Wagner tallied six.
The Seahawks used a 3-1 second period to create definite separation between them and the upset-minded Bison.
Bucknell attempted a rally in the third stanza but Wagner countered its three goals with four.
The final quarter saw Bucknell score twice but three Seahawk insurance goals ended any possible threat.
LIU Recap
Bucknell bounced back with a 13-11 win over LIU to break its four-game losing streak. The Hopper twins, Ashley and Olivia, each scored four goals to pace the offense.
The Bison used a balanced first half offense to build a 6-3 intermission lead. The Orange & Blue scored three goals in each quarter while using a suffocating defense to keep the Sharks' offense under wraps.
The third quarter was a sedate affair. Bucknell added one goal and LIU scored two.
The final stanza soared in intensity. LIU made a furious rally, tallying six goals more than its three previous period outputs combined. The Bison scored four insurance goals to ensure its second win of 2026 over LIU.
