Water Polo Hosts the Bucknell Invitational This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's water polo (5-1) hosts the annual Bucknell Invitational this weekend. The Orange & Blue will face Siena and La Salle in Saturday action and begin CWPA conference play on Sunday morning against Saint Francis. The Invitational will be streamed on YouTube.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
- Bucknell sits with a 5-1 record after two weekends of competition.Â
- The Bison went 3-0 last weekend at the VMI Invite.Â
- The Orange & Blue scored 14 goals in twin defeats of Salem and Route 15 Rival Mount St. Mary's.
- Bucknell defeated host school VMI 21-13.Â
- The Bison were ranked #25 last week but, despite the flawless record obtained in Virginia, Bucknell fell out of the top 25 in the latest edition.Â
- The freshmen continue to make an immediate impact on the team's fortunes.Â
- Bucknell's offense continues to spread the ball around and scored 49 goals in three games at VMI.
- The Orange & Blue went 4-0 at last year's Bucknell Invitational. Â
- Siena is 1-5 on the season but has played a brutal schedule against five ranked foes. They defeated Chapman 7-6. The Saints have three scorers in double-digits with Catherine Williamson's 13 goals leading the way.
- La Salle is 1-0 on the year, posting a 12-10 victory over Iona.Â
- Saint Francis opened the season at the VMI Invite, going 2-1. The Red Flash defeated the Mount and VMI but lost to Salem.
Bucknell remains at home next weekend for a series of conference games.Â
