
Bison Complete Day One of West Point Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Bucknell went 5-8 in doubles matches against Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Army in day one of the West Point Invitational. Natalie Devraj and Tori Allen led the Bison as both garnered two doubles wins with two different partners.
Devraj won her first doubles match of the afternoon with Tori Allen against Sacred Heart's doubles team of Zuba and Hofmanova 8-6. Her second win came as another 8-6 victory, this time with Jaycie Mair against Army's doubles team of Sy and Mathivanan. Allen's second win came with freshman Summer Even-Esh in an 8-4 victory of Quinnipiac. Even-Esh dropped her other two doubles matches alongside freshman Mariana Shulman 8-6 to Sacred Heart's Tuffs and Delolmo and Army's Yan and Son.
Mirra Manolov and Cameron King went 1-1. The duo beat Quinnipiac's Schulson and Sicignamo 8-7 (7-5) and then fell to Army's double team of Widiman and Duong 8-3. King also played a doubles match alongside freshman Kate Purpura. The two fell 8-6 to a doubles team from Sacred Heart. Purpura also played a match alongside Allen. The duo fell 8-1 to Army;s doubles group.
Abby Platt and Riley Jennings went 1-2 on the day. The duo defeated Quinnipiac's Renton and Flower 8-4, but fell to doubles teams from both Sacred Heart and Army 8-3 and 8-4 respectively.
The Bison will continue the West Point Invitational on Saturday, where they will compete in singles matches against athletes from Quinnipiac, Fordham and NJIT.
