"Great start of the season and our top four looked very good," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We held quite a few runners out due to the injury bug, but for the first meet, we passed the test with a very solid effort."
The Bison led the seven-team field with the Mountaineers riding shotgun. Host Lehigh placed third with 71 points, followed by St. Joseph's (96), Moravian (134), DeSales (178), and Muhlenberg finished last with 198 points.
Last year, McNally began her collegiate career with a win at the Father Bede Invitational. She repeated the trick this season with a decisive 27-second victory, running a personal 6k best 21:06.3.
Senior teammate Caryn Rippey followed in second place, running a solid 21:33.6. Rippey headlined the 2024's team efforts and tonight's result demonstrated that status will not change.
Bucknell's second sensational sophomore Katie Moncavage turned in a bronze place finish, running an impressive 21:41. She set a new 6k record by 1.8 seconds.
Junior Kailey Granger rounded out the top four Bison finishers. Granger was one second away from tying Moncavage for bronze. Her time of 21.42 did not set a personal record but it is Granger's second-best time for the 6k.
Sophomore Cassidy Roop's summer practice paid off in a large way, as she finished a career-best 11th, running a career-high in 6k at 22:31.8.
Seven Bison finished in the top 13.
