
Cross Country Heads to the Jasper Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Fresh off their impressive showings at the Lehigh Open, Bucknell cross country returns to action this Saturday at the Jasper Invitational. The Bison women won the Lehigh Open while the men's squadron placed second. The shining results at the first meet have both squads eager to compete again and continue the hot streak. There will be four races at the invitational: unseeded 6k and 8k and seeded 6k and 8k.Â

"After coaching for so many years, it is always exciting to attend a meet and run on a course that I have never seen. It is the permanent course that the MAAC uses and it would be nice to compare ourselves to many of those teams. Having a meet under our belts from Lehigh two weeks ago should benefit us."

Overview
- The Lehigh Open was strategically picked to give Bucknell runners experience with the course which will hold the Patriot League Championships and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals later in the season.Â
- The women's team achieved victory at the Lehigh Open, beating some prominent regional foes, including a contingent of runners from West Virginia -the runner-ups in the 2024 national championships
- Shaelan McNally won the women's race with a career-best time of 21:06.3.Â
- Her speed earned the sophomore her first Patriot League Women's Runner of the Week award. It marked the first time since 2021 that a Bison (Ashlyn Ramos) won it.Â
- The top four spots belonged to the Bison women.Â
- Caryn Rippey finished second, running 21:33.6.Â
- Katie Moncavage placed third with a time of 21:41.
- Kailey Granger rounded out the foursome, racing 21:42.
- Bucknell's men earned second behind Saint Joseph's and finished one point ahead of Villanova at the Lehigh Open.Â
- Henry Didden finished fourth with a strong time of 18:18.5Â
- Sophomore Ethan Pratt-Perez, who notched Second Team All-Patriot League honors as a rookie, grabbed seventh place by running 18:21.
