BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Bucknell men's cross country challenged itself against a deeply competitive field at the annual Paul Short Run on Friday morning. The Bison finished 25th out of 35 teams, a field that included numerous Power Four foes and regional powerhouses. Ethan Pratt-Perez paced the Orange & Blue for the third consecutive meet. Â

"We were not satisfied with our team finish," head coach Kevin Donner said. "We got out well over the first 2k but didn't do a good job settling into a rhythm in the middle stages of the race. We made up a little ground at the end. Pratt-Perez ran very well and he has a good chance to be a First Team All-League runner and a possible NCAA qualifier. We need our 2-5 runners to close up that gap if we want to do something at Patriot Leagues and Regionals."
Pratt-Perez remained the Bison's shining harrier. Despite virtually no assistance from his teammates, he cracked the top 30, finishing 28th. The junior captain logged a time of 24:39.8. Pratt-Perez sat at 58th after the first mile but steadily wove through the pack. He moved up six spots in the final kick.Â
David Carillo was Bucknell's second-best runner, placing 128th. The junior clocked 25:47.6. Carillo dipped after the first mile but recovered his stride and moved up nine spots in the final stretch.Â
Sean Wemmlinger was not Bucknell's second-fastest runner for the first time in 2026 but the rookie placed a respectable 151st. The freshman logged 25:57.7. His newcomer legs plunged 62 spots in the final kick.Â
Senior captain Carter Paul finished 190th, running a time of 26:17.2. Paul started strong, sitting at 114th after the first mile but the great mass of humanity engulfed the Bison leader and prevented his escape.Â
Michael Devine rounded out the Bison scorers. The sophomore harrier placed 208th, clocking 26:23.7. Devine closed strongly, moving up 57 spots after sitting 265th at the three-mile mark.Â
Bucknell will race at the historic ECAC-IC4A Championships on Oct. 17.Â
