LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's basketball scheduled a challenging and engaging non-conference slate for the 2025-26 season, as announced Friday by head coach Trevor Woodruff, who is entering his seventh season with the Bison. The schedule includes five contests at Sojka Pavilion and six road games, including two against Power Four opposition.
"We're excited about the non-conference schedule," said head coach Trevor Woodruff. "As always, we have tried to challenge ourselves in preparation for the Patriot League season. With opponents from nine different conferences spanning New England, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest, our team will be tested when January arrives."
For the third consecutive season, Bucknell opens at local rival Penn State, facing the Nittany Lions on Nov. 3. The Orange & Blue remains on the road against Power Four adversaries when the team plays the Virginia Cavaliers on Nov. 9.
Bucknell starts the home portion of the schedule on Nov. 12 when Mount St. Mary's travels up US Route 15. The foes meet for the third straight season with the programs each winning the first two matchups on their home floors.
The Bison return to the road with weekend games against Youngstown State (Nov. 16) and Hofstra (Nov. 22). Bucknell defeated Youngstown State last season at home, holding the Penguins to 15% shooting – setting a Sojka Pavilion record for lowest opponent field goal percentage.
The Orange & Blue stay home for the Thanksgiving holiday with three straight Sojka contests against LeMoyne (Nov. 25), Brown (Nov. 28), and Albany (Dec. 1). LeMoyne is a first-time foe for Bucknell with the Dolphins recently transitioning to Division I. Bucknell faces Brown in the traditional Black Friday game and plays Albany for the first time since the 2004-05 season. The battle with the Great Danes will serve as the annual 11 a.m. Education Day outing.
The final non-conference road games occur in early December when Bucknell spends a New England weekend traveling to Vermont (Dec. 5) and Dartmouth (Dec. 7). The Bison defeated both teams last season in Sojka.
Nonconference play concludes on Dec. 20 when the Bison welcome Division III Gwynedd Mercy to Lewisburg.
The Patriot League schedule will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
