
Women's Basketball Hits the Road for Friday Night Game at UVM

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is back on the road for a packed weekend as it takes on Vermont on Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. and then heads to New Hampshire for a Sunday afternoon game at Dartmouth. The Bison and Catamounts have met three times since their first game in 1986 and Bucknell has won all three of the contests. Both teams are coming off of narrow losses as Bucknell enters the game 3-5 and UVM enters 6-3.

- In addition to Woodruff and returning assistant coaches Edward Joyner Jr. and Shelby Case, the Bison had two new additions to their coaching staff in the off-season. Lauren Holden joined the Bison as the associate head coach and Danielle Patterson joined Bucknell as an assistant coach.

- Vermont comes into the contest 6-3 overall and are most recently coming off of a close 58-54 loss against Lindenwood as part of the American Savings Bank Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Hawaii.
- The Catamounts opened the season with four straight wins before beating Hawaii and Santa Clara in the Wahine Showdown.
- Against Lindenwood, Keira Hanson led the team 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting. Nikola Priede had 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and led the team with seven rebounds.
- The Catamounts led by three heading into the fourth quarter, but a big 16-point quarter by Lindenwood sealed the game.
- Nikola Priede leads the team with 16.0 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. Jadyn Weltz leads the team with 3.2 assists per game and 1.7 steals per game.
- Vermont ranks 25th in the nation, shooting 48 percent from the field.
- Vermont ranks fourth in the nation, only committing 10.6 turnovers per game.

Bucknell's Last Time Out
- The Bison fell in heartbreaking fashion to UAlbany 65-62 in overtime after the Great Danes hit back-to-back three-pointers to take the lead with seconds left in the overtime period and ultimately take the road victory.
- A fourth quarter clash with seven lead changes resulted in a 53-53 tie at the end of regulation thanks to Tuana Coskun hitting a shot with just 0.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
- Overtime was a flurry of threes that featured six, while regulation only saw seven total three-pointers in 40 minutes. Reese Zemitis, Elana Weisman and Tuana Coskun all hit threes to help Bucknell to a four-point lead, but it wouldn't be enough as Bella Stuart and Amaya Stewart would make back-to-back three-pointers to close out the game.
- Bucknell shot 43.1% from the field, 31.8% from three and 78.6% from the free-throw line in the loss. Both teams struggled with turnovers throughout the game with Bucknell having 17 and UAlbany recording 16. The Great Danes shot 41.8% from the field, 33.3% from three and 65.0% from the line to edge out the Bison in overtime.
- Three Bison put up double-digit points in the overtime loss. Zemitis and Coskun each recorded 18 to lead the charge. Zemitis shot 7-of-14 from the field and went 3-for-9 from three, including one of the overtime lead changing shots. Coskun went 6-of-13 from the field and 2-of-6 from three. Coskun also went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in regulation. Weisman recorded 11 points on a 4-of-9 shooting performance from the field and a 2-of-2 free-throw performance. She also went 1-of-3 from three. with five, Weisman led the team in assists and blocks with four apiece.
