
Women’s Tennis Sweeps its Home Weekend

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team defeated Saint Joseph's 4-3 on Sunday morning as they completed the home weekend sweep and moved to 7-8 overall on the season.
The day began with doubles play, where the Bison took wins on Court 1 and Court 3. Whitney King and Abby Platt defeated Wiktoria Czerny and Victoria Tracey 6-2 and Cameron King and Jaycie Mair defeated Ana Ocasio and Gisele Tang 6-2. With the two doubles wins, Bucknell took the doubles point.
The Bison headed into singles play with a 1-0 lead and took the first three singles matches. Anna Lajos defeated Tracey in three sets on Court 1, Caroline Marcus defeated Ocasio 6-2, 6-1 on Court 5 and Natalie Devraj defeated Tackett 6-0, 6-1 on Court 6. The three singles wins brought Bucknell to four points secured the win.
Saint Joseph's then made a comeback, winning the singles matches on Courts 2,3 and 4 bringing the score to 4-3, but it wouldn't be enough as the Bison already secured the win.
Bucknell will next travel to Maryland to take on Towson on Tuesday, April 1 at 2 p.m.
