Women’s Tennis Travels to Towson, Hosts Lehigh for Senior Day

Bucknell at a Glance
- The Bison women's tennis squad has a split weekend as they travel to take on Towson on Tuesday and then host Lehigh on Senior Day on Friday.
- The Bison are coming off of a home weekend sweep as they defeated both Loyola and Saint Joseph's.
- Bucknell comes into this week 7-8 overall and 1-2 in the Patriot League.
- In their last time out, Bucknell defeated Saint Joseph's 4-3.
- Whitney King and Abby Platt defeated Wiktoria Czerny and Victoria Tracey 6-2 and Cameron King and Jaycie Mair defeated Ana Ocasio and Gisele Tang 6-2. With the two doubles wins, Bucknell took the doubles point.
- The Bison headed into singles play with a 1-0 lead and took the first three singles matches. Anna Lajos defeated Tracey in three sets on Court 1, Caroline Marcus defeated Ocasio 6-2, 6-1 on Court 5 and Natalie Devraj defeated Tackett 6-0, 6-1 on Court 6. The three singles wins brought Bucknell to four points and secured the win. Saint Joseph's then made a comeback, winning the singles matches on Courts 2,3 and 4 bringing the score to 4-3, but it wouldn't be enough as the Bison already secured the win.
- Whitney King leads the Bison with 12 wins in singles matches. W. King and Abby Platt lead the team in doubles with 16 wins this season.
- Whitney King continues to climb Bucknell's career wins charts. She now ranks 13th in career singles wins with 60, fourth in doubles wins with 78, and seventh in combined wins with 138.
Towson at a Glance
- Towson is heading into the week 3-6 overall.
- The Tigers are on a one-game winning streak after defeating Monmouth in their last time out. Towson secured the doubles point with strong performances from Kiersten Tambe and Chandré Boshoff at No. 1 and Ashira Murray and Olivia Rothfeld at No. 2. The Tigers continued to dominate in singles play, claiming five straight-set victories. Kiersten Tambe retired from her singles match due to knee issues.
Lehigh at a Glance
- Lehigh is heading into the week 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the Patriot League.
- The Mountain Hawks are on a one-game winning streak after defeating Patriot League opponent Loyola 6-1 on Sunday.
- In their last time out, Lehigh started strong in doubles play, with Audrey Harrington and Hamsa Javagal getting things rolling with a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 doubles spot. Ronit Khromchenko and Alina Shyani clinched the first point for the Mountain Hawks with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. They then took five of the six singles points to win.
- Five different players have seven singles wins overall which leads the team. Maggie Forkner, Hamsa Javagal, Ronit Khromchenko, Alina Shyani and Giselle Vlassis. Forkner and Allyce Gaborik lead the team in doubles with four wins.

- The Bison will stay on the road and face Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday, April 12 at 12 p.m.
