Women's Swimming and Diving Moves Into Third Place After Second Day of Bucknell Invitational; Sets Two Top-10 Times in Relays

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team moved up into third place after the second day of the Bucknell Invitational at the Kinney Natatorium on Saturday. Junior Kelly Byrne etched her name in the Bucknell's all time top-10 list for the 400 IM, earning a second-place finish in the event, and the Bison earned two top-10 times in relays.
Bucknell started the day with a top-10 time in the 200 medley relay as Natalia Gajecki, Hanna Bingley, Tori Castro and Sara Ketron earned 38 points with a fifth-place finish in 1:42.87. The time was good for ninth all-time in the event. Delaware set a pool record with a time of 1:40.36.
Byrne and Clara Renner followed it up with second and third-place finishes in the 400 IM to earn 28 points. Byrne's time of 4:17.67 was good for third on Bucknell's top-10 list. Renner was right behind her with a time of 4:18.56 to collect 27 points. Renner owns the second-best time in the event at 4:16.85, which she set last season. Hastings collected 13 points in the B-final, and Tessa Feld won the C-final to earn nine points.
Tori Castro took 16 points in the 100 fly, and her time of 55.81 was just three-hundredths of a second off a top-10 mark after setting two top-10 times yesterday.
Jennifer Bolden took seventh in the 200 free in 1:50.80 to earn 23 points for the Bison. Sydney Dettmann and Kyla Kelly took 10th and 11th in the event.
In the 100 breast, Bucknell went 11-15 to collect 70 points in the event. Bingley took 11th (1:04.41) followed by Samantha Benzija (1:04.64), Kennedy DeVeaux (1:04.91), Byrne (1:05.06) and Sydney Jee (1:05.51).
Sofia Burns took ninth in the 100 back to take 20 points. She finished in 55.94, just six-hundredths of a second off of her top-10 time. Alivia Wainright took 12th in 56.23 to earn 15 points and Kelly took 15th in 57.30 to earn 12 points.
Bucknell set another top-10 time in the 800 free relay. Renner, Dettmann, Hastings and Bolden took third place with a time of 7:24.73. The time was good for 8th all-time, and it earned the Bison 42 points in the event.
Bucknell sits in third with 640 points, just ahead of Fordham at 626.50. Brown extended its lead at 1,340 points and Delaware sits comfortably in second with 991 points.
The Bucknell Invitational wraps up its final day on Sunday as teams are set to compete in prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. in the Kinney Natatorium.
