The Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back at home in the Kinney Natatorium to host the Bucknell Invitational on Friday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 23. Prelims are set for 10 a.m. each morning before finals at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.Â
The meet is set to simulate a championship-style event as Brown, Delaware, Davidson, Fordham, Seton Hall and UMBC are set to compete with the Bison. Â Â
Bucknell's women are 4-1 to start the year, coming off a quad meet hosted by Navy against American, Lafayette and Navy. The Bison went 2-1, putting in a dominant display over American (200-97) and Lafayette (224-76) but falling to Navy (177-112).
The Bison women also defeated Holy Cross (198-102) and Boston U. (160.5-139.5) back in October to start the season.
Bucknell's men are 3-2 to start the season, going 2-1 at the quad meet as the women did. Bucknell handled American (226-70) and Lafayette (217.5-81.5) but fell to Navy (185-104). The men went 1-1 in an opening weekend defeating Holy Cross (163-137) and losing to Boston U. (172.5-127.5).
Bucknell also hosted the Bucknell Fall Invitational back in October, competing against Seton Hall and Binghamton with no team scoring in the event.

Bucknell Women vs. American, Lafayette and Navy
- The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team went 2-1 at a quadrangular meet hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall on Saturday. Bucknell defeated American (200-97) and Lafayette (224-76) but fell to Navy (177-112).
- Clara Renner won both of her events for the Bison, taking the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.13) and the 100 fly (56.02). The sophomore won the 200 fly by more than two seconds, and she took the 100 fly by just under four-tenths of a second.
- Bucknell finished ahead of Lafayette in 14 of the 16 events and beat American in 12 events. Navy won 12 total events in the meet.
- The Bison posted six top-three finishes and 15 top-five finishes in individual events. The Bison took fourth in the 200 medley relay and fifth in the 200 free relay.
- Kelly Byrne and Sofia Burns each had a runner-up finish. Byrne swam the 1,000 free in 10:26.83, and Burns swam the 200 backstroke in 2:05.53. Both swimmers finished ahead of American and Lafayette in the two events. Byrne also added a third-place finish in the 500 free, swimming a time of 5:09.67.
- Freshman Tori Castro finished third in the 50 free with a time of 24.25. Her time was 0.27 seconds off of the top time and she finished ahead of both American and Lafayette.
- Sydney Jee took fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.42) and 200 breast (2:23.39), finishing only behind Navy in both events. Sydney Dettmann had two top-five finishes. She took fourth in the 200 fly in 2:06.12 and fifth in the 200 back in (2:07.08).
- The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Meet Clara Renner has been dominant to start the year, winning all eight events she has competed in. She has posted two wins in the 100 fly and 200 fly, and she has wins in the 200 free, 500 free, 1,000 free and the 400 IM.
- Kelly Byrne has three wins this season. She took the 500 free (5:12.68) against Holy Cross, the 200 breast against Boston U. (2:22.60), and the 200 back (2:02.16) at the BU Fall Invite.
- Kyla Kelly also has three wins. She won the 100 breast (1:06.35) against Holy Cross, and had a big day against Boston U. with wins in the 200 free (1:53.23) and 200 IM (2:05.64).
- Sydney Jee has two wins to start the year. She took the 200 breast (2:24.25) at Holy Cross and the 100 breast (1:05.48) at Boston U.
- Freshmen Tessa Feld, Natalia Gajecki, Alivia Wainwright and Kennedy DeVeaux have all collected a win this season. Feld has two wins, taking the 1,000 free (10:31.34) at Holy Cross and the 200 fly (2:05.36) at the BU Fall Invite.
- Sydney Dettmann, Virginia Hastings and Jennifer Bolden all have one win thus far.
- The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team went 2-1 at a quadrangular meet against hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall on Saturday. Bucknell dominated American (226-70) and Lafayette (217.5-81.5) but fell to Navy (185-104).
- Bucknell finished ahead of American in 15 of the 16 events and finished ahead of Lafayette in 13 events. Navy, which has won 20 of the last 21 Patriot League Championships, won every event.
- The Bison had two top-three finishes and 16 top-five finishes in individual events. Bucknell took fifth in both the 200-yard free relay and the 200 medley relay.
- James Lombardi had Bucknell's best finish as a runner-up in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.52. Evan Hepburn finished fifth in the event ahead of Lafayette and American with a time of 2:11.63. Lombardi also took fourth earlier in the day in the 100 breast (57.82).
- Jackson Vinarub's 293.5 score in the three-meter dive was good for third ahead of Lafayette and American. Jack Krug finished fifth in both of his dives. He scored a 256.3 in the one-meter dive and 281.15 in the three-meter dive.
- Jason Kellerman took fourth two events. The freshman tied for fourth in the 200 butterfly with his time of 1:52.31. He then swam the 100 fly later in the day in 51.45.
- Several other Bison had finishes ahead of American and Lafayette. William Shoemaker swam the 1,000 free in 9:49.64. Dante Buonadonna finished fifth in the 200 free in 1:43.45 and Caleb Hagadorn took fifth in the 100 backstroke in (52.82).
- Braden Beagle swam the 200 back in 1:53.84, Shane Wynne swam the 100 fly in 51.54 and Drew Davis swam the 100 IM in 51.95.
- Freshmen Drew Davis leads the Bison with four wins thus far. He posted two wins against both Holy Cross and Boston U. At Holy Cross, he won the 100 back (50.75) and the 100 fly (50.72). At Boston U., he won the 100 back (49.88) and 200 IM (1:53.44).
- Alex Crossing has two wins, taking the 200 fly (1:54.03) and the 500 free (4:48.33) against Holy Cross.
- Finn Russell has won the 50 free twice, taking the event against Holy Cross (21.64) and Boston U. (20.97).
- Freshmen Jason Kellerman is off to a great start, and he has two wins this season. He took the 200 back (1:52.82) against Holy Cross and the 100 fly (50.84) against Boston U.
- William Shoemaker won the 1,000 free (9:49.80) and Dante Buonadonna won the 200 IM (1:55.41) against Holy Cross.
- James Lombardi won the 100 breast (57.15) and Shane Wynne won the 200 fly (1:52.13) against Boston U.
- Riley Twiss won the 200 fly (1:50.97) and Jackson Vinarub won the one-meter dive (291.65) at the BU Fall Invite.
- The Bison are back in action after the winter break, heading to Army for a dual meet on January 10.
- Bucknell's next home meet is a dual meet against La Salle on January 17 in the Kinney Natatorium. Â Â
