Bucknell Swimming and Diving Programs Announce Addition of 18 Incoming Freshmen

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming and diving programs welcome 18 newcomers – 10 men and eight women – to the 2026-27 team. The 18 members of the class of 2030 will be head coach Dan Schinnerer's final recruiting class at Bucknell.
The women's freshmen class includes Abbey Amato, Maddie Evers, Savanna Ferrucci, Meghan Hadsell, Kylie McKirryher, Karlin Smith, Siena Wilson and Lindsay Young. They add depth to a strong Bison squad that finished third in each of the last two Patriot League Championships and will return two individual champions.
"We had a young team last year with 11 first-years and we are excited for that group to have a year experience under their belt going into next season," said Schinnerer. "With that said, we are also very excited to have this group of 8 joining the team. They will provide us good depth across all events but in particular on the diving boards and in the backstroke and distance freestyle events."
The incoming freshmen for the men's side consists of Eren Aydin, Josh Battison, Sam Cavanaugh, Cayden McDonnell, Edward Johnson, Preston Kuhn, Ben Pope, George Powers, Thomas Senfield, Luke Thomas. Bucknell graduated a large group of seniors in 2026 and the class of 2030 will be the biggest class on among the roster. The Bison also bring in three divers after losing two of the top divers in program history, Jackson Vinarub and Jack Krug, to graduation.
"We just graduated a very large senior class and that allowed for us to focus on bringing in a larger incoming class," said Schinnerer. "This group has the ability to make a significant impact right away both in the team depth but also in the 'frontline' of many events. Having three male divers in the class is very positive and a reflection of the great work coach Errol Carter is doing with our divers."
