Men’s Swimming & Diving Underway at Bucknell Invitational

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The three-day Bucknell Invitational got underway on Friday at Kinney Natatorium, and the Bucknell men's swimming and diving team is in seventh place in a strong field after six events.
The Bison men compiled 142 points on day one and trail Brown (600.5), Delaware (318), UMBC (282), Seton Hall (279.5), Fordham (204), and Davidson (189).
Bucknell's top finish came from the 200-yard freestyle relay, which placed eighth in a time of 1:21.52. Drew Greene, Finn Russell, Colin Smith, and Dante Buonadonna finished just seven-hundredths of a second outside the Bucknell top-10.
The first individual event of the night was the 500 free, and Finn Franks scored for the Bison with a 20th-place finish in 4:33.22.
Three Bison scored in the 200 individual medley, as Drew Davis placed 15th (1:51.30), Buonadonna took 16th (1:52.81), and Jason Kellerman finished 18th (1:50.72). Brown dominated the event with six of the top eight finalists.
In the 50 free, Russell placed 18th in 20.61, and Smith took 24th in 21.17.
The 400 medley relay finished in 10th place in 3:19.59. Davis led off with a 49.33 backstroke, which is the sixth-fastest 100 back in school history. James Lombardi, Russell, and Greene also swam on the medley relay.
The diving program also got going on Friday with the 1-meter event, and four Bison scored points. Jack Krug led the way with a 12th-place finish with a score of 235.5, and he was followed by Connor Thurston (18th), Jackson Vinarub (20th), and Jake Hagler (21st).
The three-day meet continues on Saturday with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
