Donner's Debriefing
"This is always an interesting meet because we are coming off a five-week layoff from our first meet in which our athletes were home for three of those weeks. We are much younger than we were last year at this time as we graduated some of best all-time female athletes. However, I am proud of how many of our athletes performed. We did see some areas of weakness that needs to get better but we also saw some tremendous strengths. We usually see see some great improvement between our first and second January meets. We are excited to be hosting the Gulden Invitational next week which is our first scored meet of the season."
Recap
Justley Sharp continued her strong presence in the shot put by finishing second tossing the instrument 49-4.5 feet. Freshman Madison Fowler etched her name in the Bucknell record book with her fifth-place throw of 46-5.5. She now ranks seventh in Bucknell history.
Freshman Alexandra Lea continued her successful start to her collegiate career finishing fourth (58.27) in the 400-meter dash.
Caryn Rippey kept her momentum from the 2024 track and cross-country seasons, winning fourth (2:16.18) in the 800-meter run.
Karly Renn finished sixth (11-5.75) in the pole vault.
Anna Posh placed seventh (1:37.11) in the rarely seen 600-meter run.
Fowler added a seventh-place finish in the weight throw to her afternoon. The rookie tossed the weight 54-4 feet.
