PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Bucknell women's track & field started the first day of the historic Penn Relays on Thursday by establishing three new top ten distance marks in program history.Â
Results
"Overall, it was a pretty good day one," said head coach Kevin Donner. "Our hammer throwers were very solid and we had a few distance runners crack into our all-time top 10 list. Meghan ran a very nice steeplechase time and has a real good chance to get our school record at leagues. Caryn ran a nice 5k to make our all-time list and Kailey also made our all-time list in the 10k."
Meghan Rentner continued her magnificent 2026 outdoor season with another top ten mark. She slotted 22nd in the 3000-meter steeplechase but her time of 10:30.31 ranked second all-time at Bucknell. Rentner entered the day at seventh all-time at Bucknell.Â
"I honestly went into the race with no concrete expectations and was just excited to race at such an iconic meet for the first time," said Rentner. "I knew it would be out of my comfort zone to race against a really competitive field since I haven't done so since freshman year, so I wanted to try to settle in and be comfortable when I could. Unfortunately, I was not on point with my water jumps, so making up as much ground as possible throughout the rest of the race and trying to remain confident even after a few falls became my approach as the race progressed."
One week after shattering her mother's school record in the 3000-meter run, Kailey Granger added another top ten mark to her resume by running 35:48.86 in the 10,000-meter run. Under the lights at historic Franklin Field, Granger competed successfully against a field full of Power 4 and other regional powerhouse runners. She finished 14th and her time moved her into seventh all-time at Bucknell.Â
Caryn Rippey placed 44th in the 5000-meter run but more importantly her time of 16:43.45 slotted her seventh all-time at Bucknell. The Bison have had five runners enter all-time top ten marks in the event this season.Â
Madison Fowler placed sixth in the college hammer throw competition. The Bison sophomore posted marks in all six attempts and her best throw of 54.69m (179-5) arrived in her third attempt.Â
Bucknell resume competition tomorrow with a series of relay and field events.Â
