Women's Lax Places 29 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's lacrosse team placed 29 student-athletes -- more than 85 percent of its roster -- on the 2023-24 Patriot League Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Wednesday. The the squad combined for a stellar 3.62 grade-point average, with 25 of the 29 Honor Roll members also making the Bucknell Dean's List with a GPA of 3.50 or better.
Patriot League student-athletes are selected to the academic honor roll for achieving a 3.2 grade-point average (GPA) or better during the semester in which their League champion is crowned. Bucknell registered a League-high 526 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll in 2023-24, including 352 during the winter and spring seasons. Lafayette and Lehigh tied for second with 426 honorees apiece, while Holy Cross (419) and Colgate (417) placed third and fourth, respectively. Boston University (382), Loyola Maryland (347), Navy (312), American (220), and Army West Point (218) rounded out the League's 10 full-member institutions.
Five Bison women's laxers recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs this spring: senior Emily Baird (biomedical engineering), freshman Bella Crowley (biology), senior Sam Lehaney (education), senior Phoebe Macleod (economics), and freshman Katie Wolin (management). Baird also represented the Bison on the Academic All-Patriot League Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.Â
