Women's Water Polo Falls to Brown 13-7 at CWPA Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The fifth-seeded Bucknell women's water polo team dropped its first-round game to fourth-seeded Brown 13-7 as the 2024 CWPA Championship got underway on Friday at Harvard's Blodgett Pool. The Bison will next play Saint Francis in the fifth-place game on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Bella Schraa scored twice and Isabelle Monahan once in a tightly contested first quarter, but the Bears pulled away with a run of six straight goals to build a 9-3 lead. Schraa later added a third goal, Boati Motau scored twice, and Anna Plante hit the back of the net to account for Bucknell's seven goals.

Madeleine Poissonnier scored four goals for Brown, which will face top-seeded Princeton on Saturday at 2 p.m. Harvard and Michigan will meet in the other semifinal contest.
