LEWISBURG, Pa. – Taylor Kopan celebrated her Senior Day with four goals and Allie Boyce also had a hat trick, but the Bucknell women's lacrosse team could not sustain an early lead and fell 21-14 to Army West Point on Saturday at windy Graham Field at Holmes Stadium.

Emily Baird logged two goals and an assist, and Braeden Siverson and Katie Browne also tallied two goals each for the Bison (5-9, 3-5 Patriot League), who had a couple of three-goal leads in the first quarter before the Black Knights (8-7, 6-2 PL) ran off an 8-0 run.

Baird set the tone with an early shot on goal that was saved, and moments later she scored the game's first goal. Baird set up Kopan's first of the day to give the Bison a 2-1 lead, and later in the frenzied opening quarter Kopand and Abby Henderson scored in succession to make it 6-3. It was still a three-goal margin at 7-4 after Siverson's goal, but Allison Reilly scored from the 8-meter stripe with 1:02 left in the period, and then Army scored eight times in the second quarter to run out to a 13-9 halftime lead.

The Black Knights scored the first four goals of the third quarter to take their largest lead of the day at 17-9. The Bison scored four times in the fourth quarter to hang around but could not draw closer than five.

Reilly had an 11-point game with four goals and seven assists, and Brigid Duffy scored five times and handed out two assists to lead the Black Knights, who were nationally ranked at the start of the season and locked down the No. 3 seed for the Patriot League Tournament.

Fouls played a big role in the outcome, as Army scored seven of its goals on free-position attempts and tallied five times with an extra-player advantage. Army finished with a 39-30 shot advantage and led 22-16 in draw controls. Reserve Ellie Nawa had seven draw controls and helped change the tide after Bucknell had early success on the draw circle. Baird led the Bison with five DCs.

Colleen Kazanjian had a strong game in the crease with 14 saves, while Army's Lindsey Serafine had seven.

Bucknell began the day in a tie with Lehigh for fifth place in the Patriot League standings, and that two-way tie became a four-way logjam, with Bucknell, Colgate, Lehigh, and American all at 3-5 and vying for the final two Patriot League Tournament bids.

The Bison finish the regular-season at first-place Loyola on Thursday.
