Bucknell at a Glance
• The Bison return to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium to play host to Lafayette Saturday afternoon. The two teams are currently tied in the Patriot League standings, and both are in search of a win coming off of losses last weekend.
• Bucknell battled for four quarters in a back-and-forth game on the road at Lehigh last Saturday, but it was the Mountain Hawks who ended up on top with a 9-8 victory after five lead changes. The Bison led on three separate occasions, including a 6-5 advantage at halftime. A two-goal lead by the Bison early in the second period and one by the Mountain Hawks late in the fourth were the largest by either squad in the contest. Bucknell is now looking to snap a four-game losing skid against the Leopards this weekend after starting league play 1-0.
• Bucknell currently ranks seventh in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.1 pg). The Bison added seven more caused turnovers at Lehigh on Saturday and have registered double digits in the category six times this season. Six different Bison have caused six or more turnovers, and Duncan Hill leads the roster with 13.
• Connor Davis, who leads the Bison in goals (21) and points (23), scored twice last Saturday against the Mountain Hawks after going scoreless two straight games for the first time in his career. They were only the third and fourth games in which Davis did not register a goal during his Bucknell career. The junior is now nine goals shy of 100 in his career.
• Freshman Hans Huber was one of three Bison to score twice on Saturday and now has four two-goal games this season. Huber is one of two Bison that have earned a Patriot League Rookie of the Week nod, joining fellow freshman Peter Grandolfo. Bucknell's rookie class accounts for 29 percent of the team's scoring this year.
• Bucknell is coming off a 3-10 (2-6 PL) season in 2023. Seven of the team's losses were by three goals or less, and three of its league losses were by two or fewer. Bucknell returned two of its four All-Patriot League honorees from last season.Â
• Bucknell was picked to finish seventh in the 2024 Patriot League Preseason Poll. Bucknell's roster consists of 28 returners and 14 newcomers. It graduated 2023 All-Patriot League defensemen Hank Bethel and Andrew Stanzel.
• Dutch Furlong, Davis, Ethan Gyllenhaal and Richie Striano were voted team captains ahead of the 2024 season.
• Bucknell head coach Frank Fedorjaka is in his 19th season leading the program. He's one win shy of 150 in his career and is just the second head coach in the program's 57-year history.
