Women's Tennis Clipped by Duquesne, 4-3

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team won the doubles point and took two in singles, but Duquesne scored four in a row at the top four singles positions to narrowly beat the Bison 4-3 at the Central PA Tennis Center on Saturday.
Mirra Manolov on court five and Tori Allen on court six were Bucknell's singles winners. Manolov defeated Duquesne's Taisia Yakunina 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 for her eighth win of the year. Allen won 6-3, 7-5 over Sofia Serrano to improve to 12-6.
In doubles play, Whitney King and Abby Platt earned their 20th win of the season with a 6-2 decision on court one. Anna Lajos and Manolov won 6-3 on court three. The two Bison doubles wins came back-to-back after Duquesne won 6-1 at second doubles to start the dual.
The Bison moved to 8-8 on the season with the loss, while Duquesne improved to 5-10.
Bucknell hits the road on Sunday for a Patriot League matchup with Navy in Annapolis, Md. The dual is scheduled to begin at noon.
