ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Tyne Miller came back with two straight set wins after falling 6-2 in the first to come away victorious at fourth singles, but it was the only point the Bucknell women's tennis team was able to secure in a 6-1 loss at Navy on Sunday. The Mids, who improved to 19-6 (3-0 PL), swept the doubles point and won the other five singles points in straight sets.
Whitney King and Abby Platt suffered just their fourth doubles loss of the season, falling 6-4 to Sia Chaudry and Samantha Johns on court one. It was King and Platt's first loss to a Patriot League pair in the last two years. Navy won 6-2 at second doubles and 6-0 at third doubles.
Miller defeated Stella Ribaudo 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 in her singles match. Anna Lajos put up a fight on court two before falling 6-4, 6-2 to Johns. At first singles, Emily Tannenbaum gave up just one game in both of her set wins over King.
The Bison, who narrowly fell 4-3 to Duquesne on Saturday, lost back-to-back duals for the first time since the first weekend of February.
Bucknell returns home on Saturday, March 30 to host Colgate at 11 a.m. The Bison then travel to Easton, Pa. on Sunday, March 31 to face Lafayette.
