- Bucknell previously competed against St. Francis earlier this year when the Bison, in a close game, fell 8-7.
- It was an exciting game, with both teams trading goals back and forth throughout. Bucknell won all four of the sprints thanks to Isabelle Monaghan and freshman attacker, Campbell Collins, each of whom won two for the Bison.
- In the third quarter, Bucknell earned itself both a 5-1 run against the Red Flash and a 7-5 lead, seeing goals from Bella Schraa, sophomore Gwen Kallmeyer, junior attacker Sidney Finkler, junior Izzy Lippolis, and Stott tallied her second goal.
- Despite a two-goal deficit, the Red Flash fought hard in the fourth to regain the lead and held the Bison scoreless.
- The Bison will face off against the Bobcats for the first time ever this weekend. Bucknell will look to use what it learned from its West Coast tour over the last week as they take on UC Merced.
- Michigan holds an undefeated 29-0 record against Bucknell. The Wolverines defeated the Bison in both of their matchups last season by scores of 12-1 and 16-3.
- Michigan scored 11 goals by halftime and coasted to the 16-3 victory. The Bison tallied all three of their goals in the first half. Schraa, Chloe Smith, and Monaghan each scored a singular goal for Bucknell.
- The second half was quieter. The Bison had chances but could not penetrate the Wolverine net. Michigan cooled off but put five goals in the Bucknell net to prevent any comeback.
- Long Beach a fellow CWPA member has been a long time tough competitor for the Bison as it currently holding a 15-0 record.
- The last time the two faced off was back in 2022 when Long Beach defeated Bucknell 21-4
- The sharks scored the first five goals of the game in the first four minutes in racing out to a commanding lead early on before Bucknell's Paige Furano got the Bison on the board at the 3:17 mark of the first quarter.Â
- However, Long Beach kept its foot on the gas, scoring 15 goals in total in the first half to take a 15-3 advantage at the half en route to a 21-4 win. Boati Motau and Chloe Smith each added goals in the first half, while Smith added her second goal of the day with 1:37 left in the first period on the powerplay for Bucknell's lone goal of the second half.
