Women's Track & Field Starts Outdoor Season at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.-Â After resting and replenishing the tanks from the indoor campaign, the Bucknell Bison women's track & field team opens the outdoor season ready to motor into contention. A select group of athletes are heading to Florida to compete at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational.Â

Last Time Out (ECAC Championships)
- The Bison totaled 59 points to place fourth. Six individuals won All-East, two athletes ranked in the Bison top-ten lists, and two relay teams ended up on the podium.
- The distance medley relay quartet of Mari Engleby, Anna Posh, Hailey Tabar, and Caryn Rippey won silver. The foursome orchestrated a time of 11:45.55 to win All-East honors and win eight points. The mark ranks eighth in Bucknell history.
- Two Bison placed in the top five in the shot put and won All-East honors. Prizila Negrete ended up on the podium by winning bronze with her toss of 43-7 ¼. It was a personal best to win seven points. Avery Rebar grabbed fifth (41-8) and five points. Her toss was also a personal best.
- The Orange & Blue placed two leapers in the top five of the long jump. Lila Gaughan, who won silver at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, finished third (18-4 1/2) and Abby Eisold finished fourth (17-11 3/4). Eisold's mark represented a personal best for the senior. Gaughan scored six points and Eisold slotted five points. Both athletes notched All-East honors.Â
- The relay success continued in the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet of Grace Vives, Eva Lindner, Lauren Shaffer, and Sarah Policano blitzed to bronze (9:11.32). The placement garnered six points for Bucknell.
- Two Bison jumpers finished top five in the high jump. Eisold shined again by grabbing fourth (5-2 1/4) and Madeline Lehker placed fifth (5-2 1/4). Eisold provided five points and Lehker supplied 3.5 points. Both jumpers received the All-East designation.
- Abby Paczewski completed her illustrious indoor career by placing fourth (9:44.62) and winning All-East honors in the 3000-meter run. The time was a personal best, gaining five points and ranking fourth in Bucknell history.
Bucknell competes next weekend at the Lafayette Invitational.Â
