Donner's Debriefing
"Our athletes had a great day in Miami and they represented the Bucknell brand well and got our outdoor season off to a tremendous start. Although there was a weather delay that made for a long day, I am proud of how our athletes adjusted and competed. This meet helps our team reach a higher level."

Recap
The javelin duo of Bliss and Tereska immediately made their mark. Bliss, a highly-touted freshman, opened her collegiate career finishing second with a toss of 173-9. The mark ranks second in Bucknell history, shattering the previous second-best attempt by over 15 feet. Sophomore Tereska, coming off a fabulous freshman season, placed fourth on her throw of 143-7.Â
Fellow thrower Justley Sharp finished second in the shot put with a heave of 46-3 1/2. The mark ranks seventh in Bison history. Sharp was the highest-finishing collegiate thrower and out-tossed four Power Five competitors.Â
Sharp continued her history-making pace by placing third in the discus. Her 148-2 mark ranks ninth in Bucknell history. It is the discus' first new top-ten addition since 2019 (Delia Sipe).Â
The high jump event again boosted the Bison efforts. Hull and Kates brought home top-three finishes. Hull's jump of 5-7 3/4 won silver, while Kates's mark of 5-5 3/4 gained bronze.Â
Hull's achievements were not limited to the high jump. The senior leaper also gained fifth in the long jump. Her mark of 18-6 1/2 was just ahead of teammate Lila Gaughan's sixth-place jump of 18-6.Â
Meghan Quinn grabbed fifth in the 200-meter dash and slotted third when only counting collegiate competition. Her mark of 23.89 was 0.04 seconds away from her Bison school record. She finished tenth in the 100-meter dash but ranked sixth among collegiate competitors. Her time of 11.76 would rank second in Bucknell's history if she had not already owned the school record.Â
