Women's Track & Field to Participate in Lafayette Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.- After a small group of athletes opened the outdoor season at last weekend's Hurricane Collegiate Invitational, the Bison will travel a full squad to the Lafayette Invitational. For many athletes, it will be their first competition since mid-February.

Last Time Out (Hurricane Collegiate Invitational)

The Bison sent seven athletes to the competitions, unlocked eight top-five finishes, and made three Bucknell top-ten lists.
The javelin duo of Evelyn Bliss and Brylee Tereska immediately made their mark. Bliss, a highly-touted freshman, opened her collegiate career finishing second with a toss of 173-9. The mark ranks second in Bucknell history, shattering the previous second-best attempt by over 15 feet. Sophomore Tereska, coming off a fabulous freshman season, placed fourth on her throw of 143-7.
Fellow thrower Justley Sharp finished second in the shot put with a heave of 46-3 1/2. The mark ranks seventh in Bison history. Sharp was the highest-finishing collegiate thrower and out-tossed four Power Five competitors.
Sharp continued her history-making pace by placing third in the discus. Her 148-2 mark ranks ninth in Bucknell history. It is the discus' first new top-ten addition since 2019 (Delia Sipe).
The high jump event again boosted the Bison efforts. Karen Hull and Abby Kates brought home top-three finishes. Hull's jump of 5-7 3/4 won silver, while Kates's mark of 5-5 3/4 gained bronze.
