LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell University women's water polo team returns home this weekend to host the 2024 Bucknell Invitational. The Bison will see contests against No.20 Wagner, St. Francis (Pa), Mercyhurst, and Villanova.

Bucknell hosts its annual invitational this weekend at Kinney Natatorium. A total of 14 games will be played over two days, with the Bison in action four times.
Bucknell faces off against St. Francis (Pa), Mercyhurst, and Villanova for the first time this season.
The Bison face the Seahawks for the second weekend in a row. Wagner started fast and never looked back, taking an 18-8 win at the Bruno Classic.
Senior captain Isabelle Monaghan notched herself four goals in an attempt to close the gap against Wagner.
Bucknell previously competed against St.Francis during the 2023 season at both the Bucknell Invitational and Wolverine Invitational.
At the Bucknell Invitational, the Bison tied its season high in goals against the Red Flash.
Despite an exciting game and Bucknell gaining a lead twice thanks to goals by Megan LaCroix and Boati Motau, the Bison ultimately fell 16-11.
Bucknell played a much tighter game against the Red Flash at the Wolverine Invitational.
Boati Motau, Isabelle Monaghan and Gwen Kallmeyer earned a 3-1 run for the Bison in the first quarter.
Saint Francis dominated most of the fourth quarter by scoring three straight games to take an 8-6 advantage. Bella Schraa countered with a tally at the 1:04 minute. As the seconds ticked down, Isabelle Monaghan pounded home a goal with one second left.
The Bison battled hard in the two overtime periods, but the Red Flash notched two goals.
The Bison and the Lakers will face off for the first time since 2021.
Bucknell defeated Mercyhurst 15-7, notching its 16th win over the team.
The Bison took an early first-quarter lead, outscoring the Lakers 6-0 in the opening eight minutes.
Kali Hyham had her second straight contest of scoring six goals, joined by Paige Furano, who tallied three goals for the Bison.
Bucknell extended its lead to 8-1 in the second and never led by less than five throughout the game, including a 3-0 run in the fourth period after the Lakers had pulled within five, 12-7.
Bucknell split contests with Villanova twice during the 2023 season.
The victory came after a last-minute penalty shot by Boati Motau, which Bella Schraa drew with 34 seconds remaining to break a 9-9 tie and secure Bucknell its first home victory of the season.
The Wildcats took an early 3-1 lead over the Bison; Schraa then found the back of the cage for the Bison to start a 4-0 run. The final score showed 10-9 Bucknell.
The Bisons' three losses have been against ranked opponents.
