LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell men's swimming & diving squad dipped to fifth place on the second day of the Bucknell Invitational. Andy Dorsel brought home a first place finish in the 400 individual medley to headline the Orange & Blue aquatic efforts.Â
RESULTS
Delaware remains in first place with 941.5 points. UMBC keeps on their heels scoring 924. Seton Hall sits in third place (743.5) followed by Fordham (690.5), Bucknell (606.5), and Davidson (547).Â
Dorsel paced the field in the 400 IM, swimming an impressive 3:54.78. The time would rank eighth in Bucknell history if Dorsel had not already owned the fourth-finest time. It was a strong event for the Bison, as Riley Twiss finished third and Dante Buonadonna eighth.Â
Chris Kopac, Bucknell's record holder in the 200 free, continued his amazing career in the event collecting fifth place. The senior swam 1:39.03. Kopac shined the most yesterday and he upped his game on Saturday.Â
The Bison's 800 freestyle relay team narrowly missed inclusion into the Bison top ten by swimming 6:38.66 but the mark was good enough for fourth place on Saturday. Twiss, Kopac, Finn Franks, and Damian Czartoryjski formed a solid quartet which almost topped the tenth-best time of 6:38.13. Â
Will Hedges broke into the top ten placing seventh (56.45) in the 100 breast.
The Bucknell Invitational concludes tomorrow with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
