Krug Sets Personal Record; Bison Relay Teams Set Top-10 Times on Opening Night of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Jack Krug set his personal record in the three-meter dive, which sits third on Bucknell's top-10 lists, and both relay teams set top-10 times as the Bison sit in fourth place after the first day of the Patriot League Championships at Lejeune Hall on Wednesday night.
Bucknell opened the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Drew Davis, James Lombardi, Finn Russell and Colin Smith swam a time of 1:28.75 which now ranks fifth all-time on the top-10 lists. Navy set the meet record in the event with a time of 1:23.59.
Jack Krug took fifth in the three-meter dive to earn 24 points, and his score of 313.20 bested his previous mark of 312.80. Connor Thurston competed in the B-Final with a score of 264.75 to collect 14 points for the Bison.
In the 800 freestyle relay, Jason Kellerman, Damian Czartoryjski, Dante Buonadonna and Riley Twiss took fifth with a time of 6:33.50. That time now ranks sixth in Bucknell's top-10 lists. Kellerman's time of 1:38.49 in the first leg was just eight-tenths of a second off of a top-10 in the 200 freestyle.
Bucknell sits in fourth after the first three events with a team score of 147 ahead of Loyola at 135 points and Holy Cross at 126 points. Navy is out to a solid lead at 215 points, followed by Army at 173 points and Boston U. at 159 points.
The Bison are back in action tomorrow for preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. in Lejeune Hall. Finals continue at 6 p.m. tomorrow evening.
