Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Fifth at Bucknell Invitational

SUNDAY RESULTS | FULL MEET RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bison men's swimming and diving squad had six finalists on Sunday, including an impressive double from Andy Dorsel, as the three-day Bucknell Invitational wrapped up at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison finished in fifth place with 932.5 points.
Delaware won the meet with 1,373.5 points, followed by UMBC (1,289.5), Seton Hall (1,037.5), Fordham (1,001), Bucknell, and Davidson (880).
Dorsel and Chris Kopac were Bucknell's top finishers on Sunday with a pair of fourth-place finishes. Kopac started the final session by taking fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 15:46.78, and William Shoemaker was one spot back in fifth.
Dorsel had a busy day competing in back-to-back events -- the 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly – and he made the finals in both. He was fourth in the 200 breast in 2:01.54 and seventh in the 200 fly in 1:52.63.
Will Hedges also reached the finals in the 200 breast, finishing sixth. Braden Beagle qualified for the final in the 200 backstroke and placed eighth.
Justin DiSanto won the B Final and secured ninth-place points in the 100 free, and later he came back to anchor an impressive performance in the 400 free relay. Kopac, Dante Buonadonna, Colin Smith, and DiSanto finished fifth in the meet-ending relay, and their time of 3:00.25 ranks No. 7 in Bucknell history.
Next up for the Bison is the U.S. Open meet in Greensboro, N.C., Dec. 4-7.
