Krug’s Bronze Medal Highlights Opening Night of ECAC Championships for Bison Men

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – A bronze-medal performance from diver Jack Krug highlighted the opening night of the ECAC Open Championships for the Bucknell men's swimming and diving team on Friday at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison are in sixth place after the first of three finals sessions.
Patriot League champion Navy is out to a big lead with 319 points, followed by Loyola with 169 and Penn with 155.5. Fairfield (83) and Columbia (81) are just ahead of Bucknell's 70 points. The Bison have an 18-point cushion seventh-place Baruch. Thirteen teams scored points on Friday.
Krug's score of 268.85 on the 3-meter board was good for a close third-place finish behind Penn teammates Jack Handelman (283.20) and Victor Dang (271.55).
Two Bison scored in the 200-yard individual medley, as Avery Kuhn won the B Final in 1:51.17 for a ninth-place finish and Caleb Kubiak placed 14th in 1:52.39.
Colin Smith made the A Final in the 50 free and finished seventh in 20.63. Smith was the only finalist not from Navy or an Ivy League team.
Bucknell finished the night with a strong fourth-place finish behind Navy, Loyola, and Penn in the 500 medley relay. Kuhn, Finn Lukens, CJ Meier, and William Harpster finished in 3:23.73.
The ECAC Championships continue on Saturday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. at Kinney Natatorium.
