Spectator Note: Visitors 18 years and older must present a government-issued ID card to gain access to the Academy grounds, while visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to those drivers with a Department of Defense ID card. All other visitors must either park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Bucknell at a Glance:
• Bucknell goes on the road for EIWA duals at Navy and Columbia this weekend. The Bison make a quick turnaround after facing the Midshipmen in Annapolis Saturday evening to make the trip up to New York for Sunday's 1 p.m. dual.
• Bucknell went 1-1 in duals last weekend, suffering a loss at home to Army before dispatching Drexel on the road. Bucknell is now 3-1 in EIWA duals and 7-4 overall. The Bison have won six of their last seven. Five of Bucknell's 2023-24 dual opponents have appeared in the NWCA Top-25 Poll this season, including Navy.
• Several Bison also took part in the Mat-Town Open II at Lock Haven on Sunday, and both Dylan Chappell (141) and Nolan Springer (184) finished as placewinners at fifth and fourth, respectively.
• Three Bison appeared in the latest Intermat national rankings on Tuesday: Kurt Phipps (14th at 133), Noah Mulvaney (12th at 165) and Dorian Crosby (27th at 285). Phipps moved up two spots from 16th last week, while Mulvaney and Crosby stayed put.
• The first round of NCAA Coaches' Rankings was released last Monday, and five Bison made the cut: Phipps (13th at 133), Mulvaney (18th at 165), Myles Takats (31st at 174), Mikey Bartush (32nd at 184) and Crosby (21st at 285). It was the highest number of Bison on any single NCAA Coaches' Rankings list since 2016. The NCAA Coaches' Rankings are used in the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
• Bucknell returned all three 2023 NCAA qualifiers this season: Phipps (133), Chappell (149) and Crosby (285). Chappell and Crosby were both automatic qualifiers, and Phipps was one of 47 wrestlers to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. Bucknell also returns four of its five EIWA placewinners from a season ago: Phipps, Chappell, Crosby, and Nick Delp (157).
• Bucknell graduated six seniors in 2023, including 2021 NCAA qualifier and three-time EIWA placewinner Darren Miller.
• The Bison added 11 newcomers this season, and the group was dubbed the No. 19 recruiting class in the country by Intermat. Six have made dual starts this season, and two appeared in the first set of NCAA Coaches' Rankings: Mulvaney and Takats. The two are a combined 17-4 in duals.
• Chappell, Crosby, Delp and Phipps are serving as team captains this season.
• Head coach Dan Wirnsberger is in his 18th season with the Bison and his 19th year leading the program since its revival in 2005. He ranks second all-time in program history with 155 career victories.
• Bucknell is set to host the 120th EIWA Championships in Sojka Pavilion on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9. Tickets are on sale now at the Bucknell Campus Box Office.

A Look Back at the Army/Drexel Duals
• Bucknell and Army entered the heavyweight bout tied at 15, but No. 26 Lucas Stoddard defeated No. 27 Dorian Crosby 4-2 to give the Black Knights the 18-15 win. Outside of an Army pin at 125, every other matchup was within four points after three periods. The first two Bucknell wins were decided by just a single point, and Noah Mulvaney won in sudden victory.
• Kurt Phipps earned a 1-0 win over No. 31 Braden Basile. It was Phipps' third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season. Dylan Chappell (141), Mikey Bartush (184) and Logan Deacetis (197) also earned wins for the Bison, as the two teams split the bouts evenly 5-5.
• It was the second year in a row that Army and Buckell's matchup came down to the final wrestlers.
• Bucknell bounced back on Sunday with a convincing 24-10 victory at Drexel. The Bison took seven of 10 bouts, including each of the last five.
• Braden Bower (141) posted a major decision, and Deacetis won by tech fall to score bonus points for the Bison, while Drexel collected four points with a major decision at 125.
• Phipps, Mulvaney, Bartush and Deacetis each went 2-0 over the weekend.
Scouting Navy/Series History
• Navy ranked 23rd in last week's NWCA Division I Coaches Poll before its losses last week. The Mids fell to 6-5 (1-2 EIWA) with a 20-17 loss at North Carolina last Sunday. They've dropped five in a row after beginning the season 6-0. Navy opened the year with a win over No. 23 Illinois. The Mids will face Lock Haven on Friday before hosting the Bison Saturday.
• The Bison and the Mids have shared two common opponents so far this season. Navy beat Morgan State 39-0 and American 38-0.
• Five Midshipmen appeared in the latest Intermat rankings: No. 31 Brendan Ferretti (133), No. 14 Josh Koderhandt (141), No. 18 Andrew Cerniglia (165), No. 30 Danny Wask (174) and No. 19 Grady Griess (285). Six Mids appeared in the first set of NCAA Coaches' Rankings.
• Navy tied for fourth of 17 teams at the 2023 EIWA Championships, and Griess was crowned the heavyweight champion. The Mids sent five to the NCAA Championships, and four are back this season: Ferretti, Koderhandt, David Key and Grady Griess.
• Bucknell is 1-25 in the all-time series with Navy dating back to 1979. The Mids won the 2023 meeting 25-9 in Lewisburg, with Bucknell earning three decisions. Dorian Crosby (285) upset Griess, Kurt Phipps defeated No. 31 Brendan Ferretti (133) and Nick Delp (157) beat Devon Deem. Bucknell last defeated the Mids in 1986.
Scouting Columbia/Series History
• Columbia has dropped four in a row to move to 1-7 (0-2 EIWA). Most recently, the Lions fell 31-3 to No. 22 Penn and 26-7 to Princeton. Columbia will face No. 8 Cornell on Friday before hosting the Bison on Sunday.
• Army is the only common opponent between Columbia and the Bison so far this season. The Black Knights defeated the Lions 25-13 on Jan. 14.
• The Lions had four appear in this week's Intermat rankings: No. 19 Angelo Rini (133), No. 20 Lenox Wolak (174), No. 29 Aaron Ayzerov (184) and No. 27 Jack Wehmeyer (197). Four made the first NCAA Coaches' Rankings.
• The Bison are 6-3 against Columbia wrestlers at tournaments this season, including Noah Mulvaney's (165) Nov. 5 victory over 2023 EIWA finalist Josh Ogunsanya at the Clarion Open. Ogunsanya was ranked No. 15 at the time.
• Columbia tied for fourth at the 2023 EIWA Championships following a 6-7 (5-3 EIWA) season. Five Lions were automatic qualifiers for the NCAA Championships, and one earned an at-large bid. Four of the six are back this season.
• Bucknell is 9-6 all-time against Columbia dating back to 1977. The Bison lost 25-12 against the Lions in Lewisburg last season and last beat them in 2020. Dorian Crosby (285), Kurt Phipps (133), Darren Miller (141) and Dylan Chappell (149) each posted decisions during the 2023 meeting.
