LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell Wrestling has consistently raised its recruiting bar and the program replenished its ranks in the lower weights with the addition of six skilled grapplers for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign. The group contains five state finalists, two state champions, and a Prep National All-American.Â
Jackson Heslin arrives in Lewisburg from Connecticut and collected a host of accomplishments, including a state title. He was a national finalist, a Pan Am Champion for Team USA and was a three-time Prep National All-American. Heslin is expected to wrestle at 125 pounds and will compete for a starting role.Â
Hudson Hohman adds more Pennsylvanian vigor to the program. The grappler was a four-time PIAA state placer and a two-time PIAA finalist. He posted 165 wins for Grove City, setting the school record. Projected at 141/149 pounds, he will fill the vacated role left by Dylan Chappell and the Bower brothers' graduations.Â
Bucknell returns to the Bishop McDevitt well with the signing of Ryan Lawler. The former Crusader was a three-time PIAA state placer and a state finalist. Lawler collected a haul of awards, including Powerade Placer Freshman of the Year, PA Freshman of the Year, and ranked in the top 20 nationally during his junior and senior years. He tied for the most wins (159) in Bishop McDevitt. Projected at 157 pounds, he will compete for a starting gig.Â
Anthony Mason brings New Jersey grit to the Orange & Blue. The wrestler was a two-time New Jersey state placer and a state finalist. He posted a 29-5 record during the 2025-26 campaign. Expected to wrestle at 125/133, Mason will figure prominently in solidifying the lower weight classes.Â
Bucknell's furthest traveling recruit in the class, Jackson Refsnider, ventures from the Land of 10,000 Lakes to join the Bison. Refsnider was a Minnesota State Champion at 133 pounds. A proven winner and crusher of opponents, the grappler gathered two program records in wins (228) and pins (127). Projected at 141 pounds, he will duel for the vacant position left by Dylan Chappell's graduation.Â
Another Keystone State product concludes Bucknell's class. Brayden Sigle, from Downingtown West, posted a 127-32 record for the fourth-most wins in school history, notched three district titles, won two regional championships, and finished seventh at the PIAAs. Projected to wrestle at 141 pounds, he will compete for the slot formerly filled by Dylan Chappell.Â
The 2026-27 season begins on Nov. 1 at the Clarion Open and with a dual at Iowa State.Â
