Softball Battles Army in Weekend Series

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison softball team (9-20, 1-5 PL) marches to Army for a crucial three-game series against the Black Knights. Army is 14-22 overall but 5-1 in the Patriot League after sweeping Holy Cross and taking two out of three games from Lafayette. The Bison are coming off being swept by Lehigh.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
Army- The Black Knights are 14-22 overall and 5-1 in Patriot League play. Army currently holds third place in the PL standings. The West Point denizens have three hitters above .327, Angelina Bebek, Kayla Edwards, and Brook Mitchell. Edwards leads the team hitting .358 with eight doubles and 21 RBIs, and she is coming off winning Patriot League Player of the Week. Army has four pitchers that the Black Knights use interchangeably.
History with the Foe
Army- Bucknell trails 70-43 in the all-time series that started in 1991. The Bison have lost eight straight games to the Black Knights of the Hudson. However, three losses were by one run, including two such games last season, two games lost by two runs, and no defeat during the streak has been by more than five runs.

The Bison host league favorite Boston University in three games at Becker Field next weekend. Two games on April 15 and one contest on April 16.
