Women’s Golf Moves up to Ninth at Prospect Bay

GRASONVILLE, Md. – The Bucknell women's golf team posted its second straight 321 team score on Sunday, and the Bison moved up two spots to finish in ninth place at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate.

Paige Richter carded a 78 to lead the Bison for the second straight day in the play-6/count-4 format. Viveka Kurup parred eight of her final 10 holes and followed with a 79. Cristina Canales played well after a tough opening hole and shot 81. Morgan Sohosky (83), Tatum McKelvey (84), and Tara Thomas (85) rounded out the Bison contingent.

Harvard won the tournament with a 36-hole total of 605. Penn's 307 was the low round in the 16-team field on Sunday, and the Quakers finished in second, four shots behind the Crimson. Sacred Heart (614), Navy (621), and Radford (626) rounded out the top five.

Harvard's Meiyi Yan shot 72-75 for a 3-over-par 147 total to hold off Penn's Selina Li by one shot for the individual title. Li's 74 was the best round in the field in tough scoring conditions on Sunday. Richter finished T-18th and was one of only 16 players in the field to post two rounds in the 70s.

Bucknell returns to action on Apr. 10-11 at the St. John's Invitational at St. Andrews GC in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
