Men’s Golf Holds on to Fourth Place at Wildcat Invitational

RESULTS
GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Bucknell men's golf team finished up the final nine holes of Villanova's Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday, and the Bison held on to their fourth-place position. After posting a first-round 287, the Bison finished off a 292 second round for a 36-hole total of 579.
Jackson Bussell was 1-under-par on his second round when play stopped on Monday, and he made two birdies to offset two bogeys on the back nine on Tuesday to finish with a 1-under 70. Andres Barraza parred all nine holes on the day – and the final 16 holes in the round – to post 71.
Blake Wisdom fought back from a front-nine 42 to start the second round and fired a 3-under 33 on the inward nine to salvage a 75. The Bison also counted a 76 from Jack Gardner.
Bucknell's two freshmen playing as individuals enjoyed strong second rounds. James Robbins eagled the par-5 10th hole right out of the gates on Tuesday and finished with a 2-under 34 on the back for a second-round 72. James Key posted a second-round 74.
Bussell was the low Bison for the week with a 144 total, putting him in a tie for 13th place.
Villanova repeated as champion of its home tournament with a 568 total (282-286). The Wildcats edged out Philadelphia rival La Salle by two shots. Lehigh finished third with a 573 total.
Peter Weaver shot 68-65 for a 9-under 133 and won medalist honors by six shots over David Hurly of Lehigh and Anthony Garcia of La Salle.
The Bison will be back on the course next Monday and Tuesday at the RedHawk Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami (Ohio) at Pittsburgh Field Club.
