GRASONVILLE, Md. – Inclement weather shortened the opening day of the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate to 18 holes, and Bucknell posted a 320 team tally to stand in 11th place in the 16-team field. In a play-6/count-4 format, all six Bison put up scores between 78-82, with freshman Paige Richter leading the way.
Richter made a birdie and 11 pars in her round, and she is tied for 24th place on the individual leaderboard. Morgan Sohosky followed Richter with an 80, Cristina Canales and Viveka Kurup both shot 81, and Tara Thomas and Tatum McKelvey both carded 82s.
Harvard compiled a 4-over-par 292 to open up a 10-shot lead on Ivy League foe Penn. Sacred Heart is third at 303, followed by Navy (305) and William & Mary (311).
There is a four-way tie atop the individual standings, with Wagner's Audrey Paradis, Sacred Heart's Margot Rouquette, and Harvard's Charissa Shang and Meiyi Yan all shooting 72. The top 13 players in the field are within five strokes of the lead.
The final round of what is now a 36-hole tournament gets underway on Sunday morning at Prospect Bay Country Club.
