HOWEY-IN-THE HILLS, Fla. – Backed by a final-round 76 from Sophia Bardunias, the Bucknell women's golf team picked right up where it left off in the record-setting fall season with a third-place finish at Lehigh's El Campeon Collegiate, which wrapped up on Tuesday at the Mission Inn Resort.
The Bison won three tournaments and finished second in another in five fall events, and they started out the 2026 spring campaign with a strong third-place showing in challenging February scoring conditions. North Dakota State won the tournament with a 79-over 943 total, with Longwood four shots back. Bucknell was a solid third at 971, 11 strokes ahead of Patriot League rivals Navy and Lehigh, which tied for fourth at 982.
Bardunias, who finished in the top 10 in four of her five fall outings, was solo third this week with a 17-over 233 (79-78-76). Her final-round 76 was tied with Lehigh's Yuki Zhu for the low card of the day. The only other players in the entire field to post three rounds in the 70s were medalist Norah Roberts of North Dakota State (73-77-77), and Longwood's Madison Lehr (79-78-78), who finished just behind Bardunias in fourth. The Bison sophomore collected three birdies and nothing worse than bogey on the day.
Paige Richter shook off an opening-round 89 to finish with a pair of 77s and climb up to a T-12th finish. Joelle Johnson finished with an 82, and Katherine Vice was the fourth counter with an 85.
This was the first of seven spring events for the Bison, culminating with the Patriot League Championship at Navy Apr. 17-19. Next up are two Spring Break week events hosted by Northern Kentucky in Vero Beach, Fla.
