Bucknell Women's Golf Places Six Golfers on WGCA All-American Scholars List

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's golf team continued its academic and athletic success in 2025-26 with six golfers named to the WGCA (Women's Golf Coaches Association) All-American Scholars list. Sophia Bardunias, Joelle Johnson, Paige Richter, Lila Smith, Katherine Vice and Nicole Yun received the honor announced by the WGCA on Monday.

In order to receive the academically vigorous award, student-athletes must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season. They must have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

The six Bison selected to the list marks the most Bison selected to the list in a single year. Bucknell had four student-athletes selected to the list in 2025 and 2021. The team achieved an outstanding 3.79 team GPA that was the second-highest Bucknell's varsity sports programs as all 10 student-athletes made the Dean's List.

Bardunias, Richter and Yun repeated on the All-American Scholar list for the second straight year, and Johnson, Smith and Vice made the list for the first time in their careers. Bardunias was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League team and the CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District At-Large team.

Bardunias posted a 3.81 GPA in the spring semester while majoring in Business Analytics. The San Ramon, California native repeated as a First Team All-Patriot League selection and made the All-Tournament team after a fifth-place finish at the 2026 Patriot League Championships.

Richter wrapped up her remarkable career with a second All-American Scholar honor after a second-place finish at the 2026 Patriot League Championships. She posted a 3.66 GPA majoring in Economics. The Camp Hill, Pennsylvania native the Patriot League's fourth women's golfer to repeat as a four-time All-Patriot League golfer. Â

Joelle Johnson posted a 3.75 as a freshman and was the 2026 Patriot League Rookie of the Year. She turned in an incredible freshman campaign as she posted five top-10 finishes and four top-five finishes.
Vice and Yun both achieved perfect 4.00 GPAs in the spring semester with Vice majoring in Economics and Yun majoring in Biology. Smith achieved a 3.91 GPA while majoring in Markets, Innovation & Design.
