Coach Caffrey's Call
"This weekend is really important to us. It signifies the start of the season that we prepare the most for. Patriot League is a clean slate. No matter what you did in the previous games, you have to show up for these games and we're excited about that. We feel that we have been playing good ball and I am pumped to watch us showcase that this weekend against a tough Colgate team. Anything can happen and we look forward to this second half of our season."

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
- The Bison went 1-1 at the Capital City Clash last weekend. Bucknell came back thrillingly to down Rider 4-3 in eight innings. Savannah Jones drove in the winning run with an RBI single. The Orange & Blue battled #22 Maryland on even terms for most of the game before an error allowed the Terrapins to win 3-0.Â
- Zoie Smith went 4-for-7 during the two-game series with two doubles, a triple, and an RBI. Smith's .348 batting average leads the Bison and currently holds fifth place in the Patriot League.Â
- Smith's nine doubles are first in the conference and she is 24th in the nation at doubles per game (.39).Â
- Bucknell is currently third in the PL in batting average and earned run average.Â
- Colgate- The Raiders are 9-17 on the season, and like most teams, have been impacted by a rash of cancelations. The Raiders spent spring break in California going 3-5 against a lineup of diverse opponents. Kara Fusco is the premier batting threat with four home runs and 21 RBIs. Colgate relies primarily on two pitchers: Alexa Acker and Bailey Misken.Â
- Colgate- The Bison lead 64-59-1 in a series that dates back to 1988. Bucknell won the first matchup 2-0 in 1988 but lost all three games last season.Â
